Issues with my Droid

I purchased the Droid in Dec 09.  I am currently experiencing issues with the keyboard putting in double letters..ie. I hit try and type the word help and it comes out hellpp.  Also, my touch screen seems to freeze up.  I installed an update on saturday and now my phone will not shut down.  I go through the screen to shut it down but it automatically restarts without hitting the power button.  Should I call the support number and have a new phone sent to me since the stores seem to never want to help even though i pay for the insurance and have been a loyal customer since 2001?!?!  I am starting to get a little frustrated!  Is anyone else having issues with the keyboard duplicating letters or the screen freezing up?

Have you clean your screen? Generally a freeze means your running out of space for storage. Delete a few apps.

It could have been worse. It could have come out as "hheellpp." Sorry, I couldn't resist. I have no idea why you're getting double letters.

only thing I can thing of is to try a factory reset.  That's probably what tech support will have you do anyways.  Best part is that all of your apps should automatically pull back down since you got the froyo update.

I was having similar problems with my phone as well (my backspace also didn't work properly) and took my Droid to get looked at and all they did was a factory reset and so far it seemed to fix the problem, so that is sounding like your best bet to hopefully solve your issues.

don't hold down your buttons so long... haha just kidding... factory reset first, then call 611.
