Just wondering. I'm waiting to see when the rollout will start to happen. I keep checking manually for the update but no luck yet. I wonder what time they will start rolling it out...

Here's what you have to look forward to according to Verizon's Droid X software update page... just in case you were wondering
Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software update, 4.5.596.MB810.Verizon.en.US, for your DROID X by MOTOROLA. This update provides several improvements for your device, as well as upgrading to the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System (OS).
Verizon Wireless and Motorola encourage you to download this update.
Enhancements:
+ Download Manager App: New App to manage all of your downloads from web browsing, email attachments and other apps.
+ App and Power Management Details: Under Manage Applications, a new “Running” tab displays a list of active applications and the storage and memory being used by each.
+ Multi-Touch Key-Chording: New ability to enter numbers and symbols with keyboard shortcut combos, instead of having to change to the numeric keyboard mode.
+ Improved Word Selection and Copy Functionality: New capability to select a word via press-hold. A second press of the selected word copies the selected characters.
+ New User Interface and Color Scheme: New widgets, icons and screens with refreshed colors.
+ Dock Icons: Static Phone, App Launcher and Contacts icons are replaced within a customizable dock. Three swappable icons and the App Launcher icon are fixed to the Dock at the bottom of all home screen panels for easy and instant access.
+ App Groups: New App Menu allows creation of custom app groups, in addition to 3 default groups: All Apps, Recent and Downloaded.
+ Emergent Groups and Smart Contacts: Based on usage, participant and addressee suggestions are made in Calendar entries, emails and text messages. Create groups instantly based on the context of what you’re doing. For example, quickly create a group based on a suggestion Calendar invitee list or the group of people with whom you’re texting.
+ Updated Calendar Options:
- Display Calendar and event times in your home time zone when traveling.
- Dismiss individual reminders, such as dismissing one meeting reminder without dismissing other meeting reminders.
- Easy conference dialing – simply dial and automatically enter a conference code directly from your Calendar.
Other improvements:
+ Geo-Tagging for Camera applications
+ Calendar application:
- Calendar appointments created on the device with Exchange Active Sync will correctly display on the device.
- Update calendar appointments with Exchange Active Sync without deleting them.
- Successfully sync the Inbox and Calendar when using Exchange Active Sync.
+ Email application:
- Improved contact syncing from multiple accounts.
- Email pushes now work correctly when using Exchange Active Sync. • Exchange Active Sync account setup will accurately present server option.
- Forwarded emails send properly while using Exchange Active Sync. • POP3/IMAP emails now show the correct date stamp.
+ Successfully edit Contacts without being directed to the home screen.
+ Autofocus Camera feature has been improved for use in low-light conditions.
+ Improved battery life while using Bluetooth®.

I'm already running 4.5.588.mB810.Verizon.en.US....but this is the Gingerbread they pushed out awhile back to select users.....if it is the same thing, then there isn't much to look forward to. I actually still have alot of the problems, but that could also be because it is not a polished version
just hope it allows me to update to 596 without a problem

The official build is closer to the 4.5.595 leak build that I haven't noticed any major bugs in, the only issues that is bound to happen is incompatible apps until the developers start releasing updates to meet GB security requirements..
My test unit has latest leaks and runs smooth as butter for me.

I threw 588 on my phone last month and had not had a problem with any of the programs that I use every day...
OR any other program that I use once in a while.

Well, I woke up with no update yet. Kind of sucks, but I'm still being patient and waiting for my market to get the rollout. Hopefully what VZW told everyone is true. From what the other forums have said, I've only seen 2 people say they got the OTA...

Those would been the Beta Tester selected not the general public release.... They will probably test the build a week or so before others will see it officially.

I have seen some app issues but this was more do to the new security levels added that simply required a little modifications by developers in most cases to get the app vack up and running. Other than this the build ran smooth in my opinon.

I had read on Motorola and Android Central a few users reported recieving the updata without issues, there has been a few that reported that the update installed over the .588 test builds but I havent seen anything on the other leak builds.... I have decided to hold of on installing uodate until I learn the diffrence between the official vs leak builds because developer have habit of dropping new things at last minute that cases issues.
