http://news.handhelditems.com/verizon-android-2-1-update-for-the-motorola-droid-going-out-finally/
Yes I think I actually believe it's true but......Is this really a good thing? If you look at the print a little closer you will find that this is a mandatory up date. That's right, MANDATORY update!!! Well I'll be. I knew their was something suspicious here, this is like healthcare for our Droid's. Just another example of big government (or corporation or something) Stepping in and taking our rights away. Why do we not get the choice to have the old 2.0.1 or even 1.5 if we want? Are Verizon and Motorola some part of some socialist regime? Well I for one am not going to stand for it. So I ask you to join me in making a stand and all of us getting together at once and throwing our Droid's into the Boston Harbor. That's right a big old Boston Droid party. That will show em. No more Droid's
LOL of course I am just kidding to bad the republicans are not.

I'm waiting to hear confirmation that people are actually receiving the update before I put too much faith in this. I haven't heard about anyone getting the update, as it was rumored to go out to a small number of people today.
The Verizon document in that link was released last week prior to the last failed update roll out. And that video has been around for a while now.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed though...

It would be more believable if that appeared on Boy Genius Report, Phandroid, Engadget or Gizmodo.

I agree, this "news" seems more like a traffic generator than real news....

I believe you need to turn off the Use Rich Text Editor option in your profile to post to the forum from your phone.

Sounds like **bleep** to me. Even the **bleep** at Verizon told me they were already pushing the update out for the last week in batches of 250,000. I asked him A. How many droids are out there for me to not get this update already and B. If he had actually seen any single customer that had 2.1 for their droid. His answers were Dont know, and No.
I think he either is feeding up crap, or is completely clueless himself. With all the people posting about it someone by now would have been bregging about it. Its not coming out, and when it does EVERYONE will know.
As for the people saying well the Droid is perfectly fine. Well its not. I paid a large sum of money for this phone. I expect it to load webpages correctly, not mute itself when the phone isnt pressed up to your ear and to have Yahoo mail work on it. If the droid cant do this, then I should have saved my money for a phone that could. Dont lecture me on how perfect it is, when it really isnt.
