Are there still others out there that haven't received the update yet??? I'm still getting the "check for update is not available at this time" prompt whenever I check to see if the update is available for me to download. I was hoping to not have to do the manual install; but my patience is starting to wear thin. I figured it should be pretty much rolled out to everyone by this point...
I had this problem when waiting for the ICS upgrade and tried a variety of suggested fixes, The only method that worked was to do a Factory Data Reset (FDR). I was concerned that it might cause more problems, but it worked well. Check out the process of doing an FDR safely. The standard recommendations seem to be to back up files before doing so to prevent a loss of pictures, music, etc.
Don't be sad perfectgrammar!
I want to ensure your Droid Bionic receives the latest software update as well! Have you tried removing and reinserting your 4G SIM Card http://vz.to/XPrSca, then reattempting the software update http://vz.to/10fHWyi. If that doesn't work, as Will314 suggested, I would hard reset the device http://bit.ly/SnzoFz and reattempt the software update. Let us know how this works out for you. Thanks!

When the update to Jelly Bean comes... DON'T INSTALL IT!!!
Many, many other (including myself) users have discovered just what a craptacular update this is and there's no way to uninstall without a factory reset, meaning you lose everything on your phone, including the updates that did work.
I cannot stress this enough, updates that people keep crying about not getting and bad bad Verizon is always behind in the
updates are the same customers posting on the forums and on the net or at Google+ how now their phones are not working
properly when I have been against such upgrades to the OS if the phone was working as it should.
An updated OS is not always a better system as you and countless other customers have found out. A shame really.
I noticed at Google+ Verizon customers are now crying for Key Lime Pie.
You see you cannot please everyone all the time.
