Im not sure if I'm doing something wrong or just doing it really right. I received my X last night, activated it, played for a few hours, plugged it in and went to bed. This morning I unplugged it and ran off to work. I have downloaded 48 apps, (that I had on my D1 that didn't transfer over) watched about 30 min of You Tube's, make about 30 min's of calls and spent a lot of time checking it out and rearranging icons and widgets, with out plugging it in my battery is down to 70%. If this is what I have to look forward to for battery life then I have no complaints.
I remember not to long ago I carried a cell phone, PDA and laptop than combined weighed close to 5-7 lbs, wrap all them up and throw in a GPS, and what ever else you might want including any software you can imagine, cram it into a box that will fit in the palm of your hand. Do you really expect the battery to last for days on end, think about it, think about all your asking this device to do with a battery not much bigger than a 2 saltine crackers.
Love my X, DRIOD X that is....................................................

Regarding having a spare battery...
How do you keep the spare? I mean, fully charged or semi-discharged or less than 15% and having the charger handy?
I've replaced my standard battery with the enhanced battery, and ran down the old one until the phone prompted me to recharge. At that point, I swapped batteries and let the extra capacity one do a full charge overnight with the phone off. So now I have the big battery in the phone, fully charged, and the regular battery sitting here at 15% or so.
Should I fully charge the spare (regular) battery? Is it cool to store the spare fully charged?
I used to know how to treat batteries, but that was in the Electronic Stone Ages of the 1980s and 1990s.
I would like to have the spare charged for when I take a trip this winter, and expect a lot of play out of the GPS navigation stuff.

Radio Shack sells a pocket Charger that has two double A batteries and a USB adapter that you can use to power or recharge your Droid as you walk.
