Just went and upgraded to the Droid X and I love it! So glad I went with this phone. But does anyone know if BitPim will work with it? I got some of my old texts off my EnV3 onto bitpim and I was wondering if I would be able to transfer them to my Droid X...? Anyone know?

If you exported contacts as a CSV file you can import them into Google by loggin into Google contact page and select import from option menu.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Can you tell what file format the bitpim put the text messages from the old phone into on your computer?
It says it's in "mbox" format. Which I've never heard of. And when I try to export them and save them on my computer, none of the programs are able to view them

Looks like there is a program that can read the format.
The reason I asked is some sms backup Apps use the xml file format to save the text messages to the sd card. If you were able to convert this MBOX format to xml, you could use such an application to "restore" the messages from your old phone to the new phone.

Did a file extension search. "The MBOX file type is primarily associated with 'Unix'. Mbox2eml allows opening and viewing mailboxes in the standard Unix Mbox format. Mbox2eml is freeware."

Interesting. I didn't even think to look it up. I have no idea how to convert files, though I'm sure I could find some software online that would do it

Thank you for that link. Unfortunately that process didn't work for me. I was able to export the texts from BitPim to my computer in CSV format, and I uploaded them as contacts on my GMail, which let me copy the text with the phone number, date, time, and body of the text and email it to myself. I guess that's the closest I'll get to keeping them.
