Just loaded up android 2.2 on my Droid X

So I just switched from a droid 2 too a droid X.  And I am totally into my new X.  It ofcourse didn't come with Android 2.2 installed, just 2.1.

I called customer service to check and see when it would be avalible for me and they said it would be "pushed" to me in the next few weeks, and told me to contact Motorola to get it sooner.  So I called the number I was given, and Motorola said that they didn't have anyway to "push" it to me, and that I needed to contact Verizon for that.

So I was feeling pretty annoyed with the whole thing.  Then this morning I was looking under "About Phone" and saw an option for "System Updates".  I clicked on that and it said there was an update avalible.  And when I downloaded it, I was suddenly running 2.2.  Everything seemed fine, but since my phone was so new to me, and I hadn't done a lot of downloading, I went ahead and did a factory reset.

Now everything is running great!  2.2 does seem much smoother than 2.1, and after getting used to it on my Droid 2, I am glad to now have it on my X.

Just thought that maybe I should post this and give people hope :smileyhappy:, since it was so easy for me to get everything working right.

With the Droid X you have to pull the updates. With the other Droids, you have to wait till its pushed to your phone. You should have been told this by Verizon.
