Hello,
Thank you for your help...I have tried all solutions and I still have the same issues. I called Verizon tech help and since I have tried everythig suggested, Verizon is sending me a new phone today. I have been with Verizon for many many years and I am impressed with their customer service/help lines and forums like these. Thank you everyone for your time and feedback. I will not be leaving Verizon or changing phones....I worked in a service deparment for 15 years at a dealership....if cars are built and break down..who is to say cell phones will not? Things happen....again....ty everyone and have a blessed day. I grew up with a land line in the kitchen...I can survive a day without beng able to text...lol....

The "standard" trouble isolation process goes like this - only go as far as you need to go to resolve the issues.:
- Boot into SAFE MODE just to rule out 3rd party APPS. In this mode, you will only launch APPS that you wish to "test". e.g., see if the Camera functions, doesn't shut off on its own, etc. If the phone functions in this mode, time to start uninstalling APPs to see which one(s) is causing your problem.
- If THAT doesn't fix it, next, run the CLEAR CACHE procedure. This will empty the system's cache of any remnants of possible corruption left behind after you received the upgrade. (edit: Actually you could do this 1st if you wish. It's pretty benign, unlike the next step.)
- And if THAT doesn't fix it, next would be a Factory Reset. This gets pretty involved and wipes everything from the phone and starts you with a clean slate - but also reinstalls ALL of your APPS unless you do something to prevent that.
Do a SEARCH for each of those procedures - if you can't find them, reply back and I'll post you links to the processes.
Good luck

Yes, all things point to the GB update, but being that it was a prefect update and this is a glitch-free phone, I and the OP are obviously doing something wrong.
I know you were replying to the OP anyway. Keep up the good work, but you're
in a boat trying to go upstream without a paddle.

@droidsw - sorry to hear you're still having issues. But those steps I posted have in fact helped a lot of people that had a rash of issues after the GB update. So for the OP, it's probably worth a try. And on a side note, I really am not having any "severe" issues at all. yes, I have a few annoyances - about every 3 days, the auto-restart-after-power-off. But there IS a software fix update coming apparently "soon" .. version .602 is in VZN's hands from what has been widely reported.
As far as the Camera issue: So you're saying that even in SAFE MODE it doesn't work properly? Reason I ask is that I had a problem back in FROYO days where my Camera was no longer working. After a couple of weeks of troubleshooting & frustration, I finally discovered teh problem to be a Screen Lock App that I had installed. If it's as bad as you're suggesting, maybe you need to get a replacement phone? Good luck.

I hear ya ... well hopefully the upcoming "fix update" will address the majority of the major issues. Take care.
