I am unable to respond to any text messages or emails and cannot type anything on my phone. I've tried looking at my settings, turning the power on and off and reinstalling my battery. No luck - anyone know how to correct?

Is there no other option to get the standard keyboard to work again besides a hard reset. This has happened twice now within the past 3 days whenever the phone is shut off and turned back on again
