Keyboard is not working

I am unable to respond to any text messages or emails and cannot type anything on my phone. I've tried looking at my settings, turning the power on and off and reinstalling my battery. No luck - anyone know how to correct?

Thank you for posting to the forums. I am here to help with the touchscreen issue. This is not a known issue with the Droid Incredible 2. Has the issue been resolved? If not, have you tried a hard reset? We recommend to backup your contacts and to ensure that your pictures are saved on the memory card prior to completing a hard reset. To perform a hard reset follow the steps below:

 

  • From a home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower left).
  • Select Settings.
  • Select SD & phone storage.
  • Select Factory data reset.
  • Select Reset phone.
  • Select Erase Everything. 
  • Activate device by dialing *228 + Send and choose option 1.

Is there no other option to get the standard keyboard to work again besides a hard reset.  This has happened twice now within the past 3 days whenever the phone is shut off and turned back on again
