LED Indicator for notifications time out?

Is there a time out for the LED indicator? I've noticed in several occasions I leave my phone unattended, when I come back, the LED is not blinking, but I do have notifications waiting.

I did a quick test, and send myself a text message from another phone. I receive it and the LED was blinking for what it seemed no more than 10 minutes before it stopped blinking. At that point, I accessed the phone and read the message.

Is this happening to anyone else? I would've think the LED should be blinking until the message is read. What's the point if it only blinks for like 5 minutes? Is there a setting where this is adjusted?

The LED indicator shows a green light when the phone is connected to the power adapter or a computer and the battery is fully charged. It shows a flashing green light when you have a pending notification. A solid red light is shown when the battery is being charged. The indicator flashes red, when the battery is very low. It does not specify how long the indicator is suppose to flash.

Thanks for the response. I already knew this information. From what I've found in other forums, and from my own experimentation, the LED Indicator times out after 5 minutes of receiving an alert/notification. This completely misses the point of the LED indicator which is to alert of available notifications. I feel like I'm back to using an iPhone, where I have to wake up the screen to see if I have any notifications. It's really annoying. The original Droid and the Droid X LED indicator blink until the notifications are seen/read, no matter if it's 1 minute or 3 hours. The Incredible should be able to do that same. Five minutes is just ridiculous and I really hope a fix it's on the way, or at least the option to disable to timeout will be available on 2.2.

If you want this issue to be resolve, please call HTC and let them know. The number is below and that's for North America. Tell them that the LED indicators should blink until notifications are read and NOT time-out after 5 minutes as it does currently. If enough people call and suggest it, perhaps we could have it by the time froyo gets delivered in August.
