LQQKING 4 an APP - anyone - unlock my car, open my garage door?
There are a lot of amazing apps out there now days, but to perform what you would like to do, you might be looking at different hardware. Car door unlocks, garage door openers, these run on a RF frequency from what I know. Phones now do not run on that and some actually have the capability of AM/FM radio, but they do not emit this needed frequency.
There is hope though. Best buy sells a new car alarm/ car starter that runs on Blackberry and Adroid phones. This would give you the ability to unlock/start/arm/monitor your car from an app from your wonderful Verizon Wireless phone. Take a look in the store some time and check it out.

For unlocking your car check out the free app called Viper SmartStart. That is the only app I see on the market that seems to fit what you are looking for. For the garage I found the app called Garage Door Opener (X10).
Not sure if it is hit the App Market yet. But if you have On Star, there is an App that will do all that (for your car) from anywhere in the world as well as let you know if you locked your car doors (lets say at the airport why you are half way around the world). It is out for the "fruity phone" store. Like I said, I don't know if it has come to the better phone Market.
