Linking Contacts on Droid X

How come sometimes when I like a contact to their Twitter account, the name now shows up as their Twitter name instead of their real name in my contact list. I  don't want to see their Twitter name in my list of contacts.  ARGH!

If you know how this can be fixed, please advise.

Thanks!!  Loving my Droid X.  It's SIC!

The way I chose to solve this problem is just delete my Twitter account.  I cannot figure out how to consistently link the contacts so that the contact name remains their true name and not their Twitter login.

The order in which you link contacts controls what name will be used. If you link to the Twitter contact from the main contact that has the name you want displayed, it will use that. If you link the other way, from the Twitter contact to the full-name contact, it will store as the Twitter name.

I've tried both ways and it seems some contacts override and always use the Twitter name.

If I go into the regular full name contact and link that contact to a Twitter account, it shows the Twitter name.  Sometimes it will show the long name, but not always.  How can I get it to be consistent?

Hmmm... Maybe it is something specific to Twitter. I was assuming it was the same as how it works for linking phone contacts vs. Gmail vs. Facebook. Linking those three seems to consistently work the way I described. I don't use Twitter, so maybe someone else will have some more insight for you about it.

It does the same thing with Facebook.  I deleted Facebook.  Problem solved.  :smileyvery-happy:
