Local cell tower after moving - no data area due to move

I have service and can make calls and text but have to enable data roaming if I want to have internet access. There is no coverage down here when you look on the map it's all white. When I enable data roaming I only have 1G. I don't know if accessing a local tower would help but thought it was worth a try except I don't remember what to dial to do this. Also I'm sure Verizon won't let me reduce my plan since I have a Droid but will probably call them and ask since I have no choice that they aren't in this area where my new job is. It's ridiculous though that I pay for things I don't have and I'm under contract and can't get out of it.

Why don't you ask them before you bad mouth them for something that is not their fault?

I have asked about my service down here and they have told me there IS service here and there's no problem. Don't worry I can see nobody here can help and I thought I'd try that before having to deal with them telling me there's service here when there's not and it's obvious on their map. Especially now that I can be in the middle of a conversationa nd the other person can't hear me at all.

And Yes it IS their fault because they don't have a tower anywhere close enough. You'd think they'd be nationwide by now.
