OK, just thought I would tell you that the stores now have both the Eris and the Droid for you to play with. I love the feel and look of the Eris. Plus, it has 7 home screens. It seemed to be fine opening up web pages as far as speed too. Using the track ball to select parts of a web page was very easy as well. Plus the Eris uses the PINCH method to zoom in and out of a web page, like the IPHONE. I still think I'm sold on the Droid only for the new 2.0 software it has and the turn by turn navigation system too. That part was so cool in the store. I entered some coordinates, told it I would be "walking", it started by telling me where to go. Awesome! I've always wanted to use my BB STORM for a GPS, but I don't want to pay the monthly fee. The other thing that is different on the phones is the DROID has a flash and also does DVD-Quality video. The ERIS does NOT have a flash and I don't think it has the DVD quality video. By the way, the cameras on both phones seemed to be fairly fast as soon as you hit the button. The DROID might be a little faster tho.
One of the Verizon reps I spoke with today at the store said that some of them are going to a class today to learn about the DROID and the ERIS, so they'll be able to offer more insight into the differences later on today around 5pm. Why they waited until the very last minute to teach the employees about each of the phones, I don't know.
Anyway, just wanted to post this for all of you who are going to get one of these phones. Also, if you have any solid points on each of them, please continue and let us all know. THANKS!!!
