Lookout Mobile Security good or not?

I downloaded Lookout Mobile Security on my Droid 2 and was having some issues and I went into a flagship Verizon store and one of the salespeople said that they had just received a bulletin saying that Lookout had some compatibility issues with Android OS and to uninstall it and do a hard reset to get rid of it. I ended up having the phone replaced for other reasons. I have since read that Lookout was a top rated app last year and very dependable. Any opinions or help from a Verizon tech that may be reading this? Thanks!

I can't speak for the Droid 2, I use it on my Droid Incredible, it is a very reliable app in my opinion and I have never had any issues with it. In addition to keeping my phone clean of viruses it also serves as an extra backup point for my contacts; there are also some other nice features with lookout such as being able to locate the device.

I use it on both my Droid X and my Droid 2 (R2D2 model) with no problems. It does everything one would expect. Yes, you can pick up a virus on your smartphone and an apps such as Lookout is almost a necessity, and it's a lot cheaper than Norton will be when they finally come out with their virus protector.

Never had an issue with lookout in the year or so that I have had it on my Phone.

I am sorry you had issues with the software called "Lookout Mobile Security" as it related with your Droid 2 device. However, most of the applications offered from the Droid Market do come with contact information for support for the application. The information you were made aware of about the compatibility issues with Android OS, we trust Developer of this application is aware of the matter.
