1. During the day my phone is sitting on a desk in a landscape position. Before the update when I turned the screen of after looking at the screen rotated to landscape, when turning it back on it would open up in landscape view. Now it opens in portrait and I have to pick it up for the screen to flip.
2. From the power button menu I used the options for no sound and vibrate a lot. They are now gone.
Is it just me? Are there settings now to have these features on? Or were they just inexplicably removed?

While I noticed some "changes" to this and that (new clocks, my old clock not being one of them any longer), they were for the most part cosmetic.
However, I noticed that almost ALL of my game apps are no longer found. Gone. Deleted. I haven't been a Droid user for very long, so I am not an aficionado to know what is "broken" at this point. However, MISSING games, PAID games, that are now gone is NOT acceptable.

Hi 44Woot44,
I understand your discontent. I would be frustrated if some of my games vanished after a software update. Please note that all your paid games/apps purchased via the Android Market can be re-downloaded for free when you access your Android Market online account. Your applications/games would not work after update only if they are not compatible with the latest software update in which case the application developer would have to address such compatibility issue.
Keep in mind that your application purchases are tied to your Google Account and can be installed an unlimited amount of times on any device. So, for example, if you remove 'My Favorite Game' to save memory, you can reinstall it at a later date with no charge by simply visiting My Apps. Note: free applications are not saved to My Apps after you remove them.
If you are being asked to purchase an application you have already purchased through Android Market on an existing or previous device, you might be using a different account than the one you were using at the time you made your purchase. Because the application is associated with a different Google Account, you are being charged to purchase it again.
Additionally, if you are missing certain games/apps (free or paid), they might be registered under a different Google account.
The above information can be verified online at this LINK for your convenience.

The clock/weather widget on my home screen no longer shows weather data unless I keep location service turned on. It used to display the weather for the last location the GPS found. I assume this will drain my battery faster. My applications (gmail, google calendar, stocks) stopped syncing.

Drag the weather widget to the bottom left tab will give you the option to select a location for the weather widget.

I'm having the same problem with my weather. However, I don't have the same screen as Wildman. When I drag my weather widget all I have is the Remove option, no edit. Help!

@Widlman, the animation you are showing here can't belong to the DROID Incredible. If you see the animation closely, on the status bar it shows 4gLTE signal. This animation is for a newer version of sense on a different phone.
For the DROID Incredible, the only way to change the location is to remove the widget and re-add it.

@Paul77479, there is no need to keep the GPS on for weather data to update for your current location. However, you do need to keep the VZW location services turned on. I have had a similar problem on my phone (with 2.2) in the past. There seem to be some scenarios in which the weather widget gets some sort of corruption. To remedy this, I used to turn on the GPS, go into the weather app and manually refresh it once. After doing this, I will turn off the GPS and refresh once again. This normally used to take care of my weather not syncing issue.
However, I have not noticed this to be a problem specifically with 2.3.4 update. If nothing else works, and if you really want to have a static location for your clock widget, simply remove the widget and re-add it. When you add it again, it prompts you to select the location.

I understand that in the list of locations your city is not showing up, but current location should work just fine. Even with gps turned off. HTC's location list used to be very good, you sure you cant find your town in there now?

I live in a little tiny town in the middle of nowhere. It is not on the list. It shows up in current location only if google location is turned on. Otherwise it does not work. When it is not working it won't even show todays date. So it is totally useless.

I am having the exact same problem with the weather widget. Everything else seems to be working fine but I refuse to leave my GPS turned on. Anyone know how to get the weather widget working without leaving GPS on?

On my HTC Droid Incredible the weather widget seems to work okay. The clock widget with the digital clock and weather will not show weather data (since the software update) unless the Google Location Services setting is turned on. Below the digital clock is the message "To see local weather, tap here to turn on Location Service." The only thing technical support could tell me was take out the battery and when that didn't try a hard reset. I'm not willing to delete everything on the slight chance that it would help fix this problem. Maybe Verizon can tell us if they or Google are trying to get customers to leave their GPS turned on.

The Weather App NEEDS Google Location services or VZW Location services to triangulate or use wifi to get your location. If no location services are enabled, the "current location" functionality will not work. However the weather app does allow you to add locations manually using the "+" button in the bottom right corner. So, if you don't want to use location services, you can always manually add your location. Once you have a manual location, when you add the new HTC Flip clock widget, it asks you to choose a location. This is where you should choose your static location rather then current location based on location services.
If you really want current location based on location services, then you have to turn them on. Also, if for some reason weather app stops working, temporarily turning on GPS to refresh and then turning GPS off agian has helped me in the past.

*sigh* I know that has worked in the past. IT DOES NOT WORK NOW!!!! VZW location services does not work, refreshing it doesn't work. It wants google location services on and will not work without it. It won't even show the date making the widget totally useless.

That is exactly what I'm talking about thanks. It makes the clock totally worthless as now the date doesn't even show up. I have to use three widets to replace the one. Clock, calandar, and weather. I don't like it.

@incredibleuser9, even if you are in a tiny town somewhere, there should still be a vZW cell tower. And if you use VZW Location, it uses the cell towers to triangulate you. And the google location works based off of your IP address (either 3G or WIFI).
I know you may already have this covered, but can you go to menu->settings->location and make sure that VZW Location Services and Google Location Services are BOTH checked?
It may also help if you dial *228 and option 2 to update your roaming list.
If all this does't work for you, you should look into getting Beautiful Widgets from the market. I know it costs money, but it gives you the closest single widget solution to the HTC clock widget.
One more thing, using Google Location Services or VZW Location Services DOES NOT drain extra battery since it is using either your WIFI or 3G connection unlike the standalone GPS Location Services.

I'm sorry I guess you are not understanding me. I don't want google location services on. It used to work without it. I'm one of those grumpy old people who don't like the invasion of privacy that I think is happening with things like that. It's none of googles business where I go. LOL

I can surely understand! I would say then trying out *228 option 2 and trying with just VZW location services seems to be the only thing left. Oh and look at Beautiful Widgets if you wish.
