While I noticed some "changes" to this and that (new clocks, my old clock not being one of them any longer), they were for the most part cosmetic.
However, I noticed that almost ALL of my game apps are no longer found. Gone. Deleted. I haven't been a Droid user for very long, so I am not an aficionado to know what is "broken" at this point. However, MISSING games, PAID games, that are now gone is NOT acceptable.
I noticed the same thing, I used to be able to hit the power button then with one more click go into silent mode or vibrate, but not anymore.
The clock/weather widget on my home screen no longer shows weather data unless I keep location service turned on. It used to display the weather for the last location the GPS found. I assume this will drain my battery faster. My applications (gmail, google calendar, stocks) stopped syncing.

Drag the weather widget to the bottom left tab will give you the option to select a location for the weather widget.
You can drag weather widget to the lower left button and change it to your location of choice..
I'm having the same problem with my weather. However, I don't have the same screen as Wildman. When I drag my weather widget all I have is the Remove option, no edit. Help!
Hi 44Woot44,
I understand your discontent. I would be frustrated if some of my games vanished after a software update. Please note that all your paid games/apps purchased via the Android Market can be re-downloaded for free when you access your Android Market online account. Your applications/games would not work after update only if they are not compatible with the latest software update in which case the application developer would have to address such compatibility issue.
Keep in mind that your application purchases are tied to your Google Account and can be installed an unlimited amount of times on any device. So, for example, if you remove 'My Favorite Game' to save memory, you can reinstall it at a later date with no charge by simply visiting My Apps. Note: free applications are not saved to My Apps after you remove them.
If you are being asked to purchase an application you have already purchased through Android Market on an existing or previous device, you might be using a different account than the one you were using at the time you made your purchase. Because the application is associated with a different Google Account, you are being charged to purchase it again.
Additionally, if you are missing certain games/apps (free or paid), they might be registered under a different Google account.
The above information can be verified online at this LINK for your convenience.
Paul77479, there is no need to keep the GPS on for weather data to update for your current location. However, you do need to keep the VZW location services turned on. I have had a similar problem on my phone (with 2.2) in the past. There seem to be some scenarios in which the weather widget gets some sort of corruption. To remedy this, I used to turn on the GPS, go into the weather app and manually refresh it once. After doing this, I will turn off the GPS and refresh once again. This normally used to take care of my weather not syncing issue.
However, I have not noticed this to be a problem specifically with 2.3.4 update. If nothing else works, and if you really want to have a static location for your clock widget, simply remove the widget and re-add it. When you add it again, it prompts you to select the location.
@Widlman, the animation you are showing here can't belong to the DROID Incredible. If you see the animation closely, on the status bar it shows 4gLTE signal. This animation is for a newer version of sense on a different phone.
For the DROID Incredible, the only way to change the location is to remove the widget and re-add it.

During the day my phone is sitting on a desk in a landscape position. Before the update when I turned the screen of after looking at the screen rotated to landscape, when turning it back on it would open up in landscape view. Now it opens in portrait and I have to pick it up for the screen to flip.2. From the power button menu I used the options for no sound and vibrate a lot. They are now gone.Is it just me? Are there settings now to have these features on? Or were they just inexplicably removed?
Item 1
I tried the landscape screen with the HTC Mail app in two scenarios.
Scenario 1: I held the phone in my hand at an angle and opened the htc mail app. It showed in landscape. I pressed the power button to turn off the screen. When I turned the screen on again and unlocked, it was still in landscape mode.
Scenario 2: I help the phone so that it showed the app in landscape mode, and then laid it down on the table. Screen stayed landscape. Turned off the screen. When I turned on the screen, it reverted back to potrait.
I have a feeling that you may be able to rectify this by doing a G-Sensor Calibration. This can be found under Menu->Settings->Display. Give it a try and let me know what happens.
Item 2
You are correct that the power menu was reduced in 2.3.4 update. To remedy this, I use the "HTC Profile" widget. When you go to add widgets, this widget can be found under settings.
Hope this helps!
@droberts999, I completely agree with you that they should not have removed the shortcut power button menu options. However, unfortunately for us, it is what it is! And I doubt that we should hold our breaths for any additional feature enhancement updates on this device. Only reason an additional update could come to our device is if there is a major bug/issue discovered.
In any case, the widget approch is a two step process for me. I am not sure how you are counting more steps. There is ofcourse the first time effort of adding the widget to your home screen. But once that is done, I simply have to tap on the widget and select Normal, Silent or Vibrate from the menu. Here are the steps to add the widget
Tap Menu->Add to Home (big plus icon)->Tap Widget->Scroll down and tap settings->Finally tap on Profile widget.
This adds the widget on your screen. Once it is there, all you have to do is tap it once and choose whether you want normal, silent or vibrate profile.
@droberts999, I see what you are saying. If that's the problem, look into QuickDesk BETA in the market (it's free). I have used it for a long time and its a real life saver. Basically it's an alternate launcher that runs along with your default launcher. So when you double tap the home button from anywhere you get a quickdesk launcher where you can put either app icons or widgets.
But mind you that the htc widgets wont work on it. You will have to use the standard power widget, or if you want more customzations then look for Dazzle widget in the market!
@droberts999, regarding the battery life, I too noticed that initially the battery depletion was really happening fast, however, since this morning I have noticed a great improvement. However to get this improvement, I did a full drain and charge. In my case I did the update when the phone was at about 70-80% charge, and I have a feeling that it may have something to do with it. Since we don't have access to the battery stats file (need root for that), I did it the old fashion way. I drained my battery completely, to the extent that the phone will not even power up. After which I let it charge completely yeaterday night with the phone switched off. I also did some "bump charging" with the phone switched off. Since today morning with my regular usage pattern I am still at 89% charge.
Also, with the new OS installed and all, its best to give it a few days to settle down before doing anything drastic.
Where I live is now not showing up in the places I can choose for a location. It worked before now it doesn't. I want my weather back.
I understand that in the list of locations your city is not showing up, but current location should work just fine. Even with gps turned off. HTC's location list used to be very good, you sure you cant find your town in there now?
