Lost pics & videos??

Ok weird thing happen to me when I connected, my droidx to my pc via usb.worked fine I had put it in mass storage mode, to put in a video, when I checked my droid, my pc had erased sum pics and videos, and body knows why or how this would happen??

I have identified this problem is related to Windows disk check feature, everytime I connect my device and the pc wants to do a error check and I allowed it to do check it deleted a number of files.  Do not allow windows to do a check because it happens everytime and there isnt any way to restore the files without using 3rd party restore apps..
