I have already tried to adjust the volume using the keys on the side of the phone but it is so quiet, I can barely hear it. I does the same thing on speaker phone also. I am not having any trouble getting ring tones etc. Can you help me? is there a setting that is causing this issue?

Have you tried adjusting the volume during a call?
When I first got my phone, I had a similar if not exact same issue.
Come to find out, I needed to be in a call in order to adjust the call volume.
If I wasn't in a call, I was only adjusting the ring tone or the media volume.
Thank you for the information provided lance96816. Additionally, power off the device and remove the battery then place it back in then try adjusting the volume while on a call.
