Low volume voice commands

When using voice commands on my Droid 2, the phone's responses are so low as to be indistinguishable. I mean when I hit the voice command button and the phone whispers "say a command".  Once the call is made, the volume of the person on the other end is fine.

This not only results in wrong numbers being dialed but causes an unsafe condition when attempting to phone hands free when driving.

Is there a way to increase this volume with out blowing out your ears once the person answers?

Download a volume control app from the market. More than likely your system sounds have been turned way down. That's what was wrong with mine.

Thanks but it's still low after I installed the RevsoDev volume control. My system volume was already pretty high.

I have listed some steps below that may help.

1.      Try adjusting the volume while in the voice command mode.

2.    Complete a soft reset (power the device off, remove the battery, place it back in, and power it back on) ***Nothing will be removed, lost, or replaced by this action.

3.    Try placing the device into safe mode.  Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. This is beneficial for troubleshooting 3rd party applications. If it works properly in safe mode, it may be a application that is not native to the device that is causing the issue. The instruction for putting the device into Safe mode is below:

4.      Complete a hard reset. Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. Only perform this reset if absolutely necessary. Below is the instruction article on completing a hard reset.

Sometimes I have good volume and then, like NOW, I don't. I tried the take the battery out reset  and the safe mode thing but really don't want to start from scratch on the hard reset. It's an R2D2.....has anyone heard of a fix from motorola yet? Did I download a bad app? Is that what happened? I just got it for Christmas and sure would like to get it fixed. Kind of weird how the problem comes and goes.

I tried but with no luck. Is there a particular one? I used Volume master but I'll sure try another. Also, how do I delete a bluetooth device? I was going to try that and then re-pair it up but I can't seem to get rid of it. I'm thinking maybe a new hands free maybe? I'm leaning toward a hard restart.

Thanks for the reply. It's frustrating.

this is a problem with mine. it changes by itself or an unknown app is changing the volumes. i just did a hard reset. This is a cycle that keeps repeating over and over. it is working now but just give it some time and it will occur again.

I have the Droid X and have the same problem.  I did have the "Volume Control" app installed and there was a separate bar for this control.  The other way to resolve the issue is like was stated above, after you hit the voice command turn your volume up, this will only turn up the voice command volume and once your call is connected the in call volume should be fine.  My issue is that the voice command prompt take forever to initiate.  Hope this helps.
