MEMORY FULL

My Incredible keeps saying 'Memory full, delete apps' when I don't have anything on it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Are we talking about the internal or external storage? To check open settings, there should be a option for sd card & storage or something like that.

Start by clearing your cache. Go into Applications under the Settings. Start going through the applications one by one. Press the clear cache button whenever the button is white.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Also, if you don't already do so, shut down and power up the device once a day.

Try removing any applications you aren't using. Below are some steps of removing the applications.

You can uninstall any application that you have downloaded and installed from Android Market.

On the My downloads screen, tap the application you want to uninstall, and then tap Uninstall. When prompted, tap OK to remove the application on your phone.

You can visit this link below to see the steps given.

you better believe it.  I am very unhappy with this device and have been since I got it. Again today I cannot text or do anything else as it is saying my memory is full however when I check it shows plenty of space.  I have very little on my phone to begin with. I mostly use it for yahoo mail and facebook.   I will make sure not to get a device like this again!

"good to go"....for how long?  It'll come back, just wait.  It's a system glitch, that people need to call and complain about.  Your memory, storage, cache, ram, whatever, isn't even close to being full.

How do you clear out the FB and internet Cache? I'm having the same issue and downloaded an "Android System Cleaner" but still can't get emails or notifications from Facebook because my memory is full (even though it isn't).

I found a fix

I have had this problem many times. I have done many searches that led nowhere. I always ended up having to call Verizon Wireless and wiping my phone. Its very frustrating, because this message is misleading. I have yet to hear anybody say that when receiving this message they REALLY had a full memory. It appears to be a bug that for some reason hasn't been fixed. I suggest calling HTC and asking them to fix it. Here is a link to HTC Customer Service  http://www.htcinc.net/contact.cfm For now I have found the answer to the problem. Its rather easy to fix although the problem will most likely return, so its more of a band-aid. I would like to suggest when anybody looks for an answer to a problem on an online discussion board please be careful. While I'm sure they mean well some people can give inaccurate advice that could cause you to have a bigger problem than when you started. I am far from a techie so I can relate to both sides of trying to help and receiving the help. Here is the link to the source of my following information

"Okay, I have fended several issues just getting Gingerbread Baked!  The first update was deployed 11/15/11 with no issues. This was build 4.06 On 11/16/11 the second update (4.08) attempted install and failed with the dreaded "Low Space" error.  After that, I got stuck in the eternal non-reboot issue.  To get this out of the way: Disclaimer, I do not take responsibility for your device.   But... It seemed to be a pretty simple fix for me.

Remove any unused apps you can.  These can be reinstalled later!

Boot into recovery

  • Press and hold Power, Choose "Restart" option
  • When screen turns off, press and hold Volume Down and Power

When the white HBOOT screen appears, use the volume button to move down to “RECOVERY.”
Press the Power button to select “RECOVERY.”
When the triangle and exclamation appears, hold the Volume Up and Power button at the same time.
Using the volume button, scroll down to “Wipe cache partition” and select it.
Select "Reboot system now"

When the system restarts, go to Settings>About Phone>System Updates.  Chances are the update is NOT there.

Go to Settings>Set Time & Date.  UNCHECK "Use Network Time"

Reset your clock for 1 MONTH ahead

Go back to Settings>About Phone>System Updates

You should get the update now and it should install and reboot flawlessly.

Hope this helps."

The link I posted takes you to a thread on the HTC site that offers other options if this doesn't work. It appears to work most of the time. But the problem does seem to come back. I started having this problem AFTER the last update, so not really sure what the real problem is. I can't believe that HTC has not fixed this problem and I have yet to see them even address it. I still suggest we all contact them and express our frustration.
