Does anyone know why my droid refuses to play an unprotected mp3 of an audiobook? It gives me an error message saying that this type of file is not supported!

merryb, have you checked the file extension? Audiobooks are almost always in .wma. The x does not always play well w/ .wma files, especially if there was any DRM on it.

With the latest 2.2 update I've been having issues with the phone not being able to even play my music or even my custom ringtones. When I boot it up it works and at some point it decides that all .mp3's are incompatible with the phone. If you just do a hard reboot of the phone it usually tends to fix it, but that is assuming we share the same problem. Hopefully the next software upgrade will recognize this fact.
