When I download apps, no shortcut is appearing on the phone. I have to go to either the market or manage my account. For example I used to have angry birds in my menu, arrow in middle on bottom of phone, but now it is gone from that spot. How can I return it to be a shortcut or in amongst my other apps?

Have you tried simply rebooting the device? This is something I've not heard of before 😕

I have rebooted the device. I have even uninstalled and then reinstalled applications.

If you are referring to a shortcut on a home screen, just tap and hold an empty spot on the screen until a pop up menu come up. Select "shortcuts." Scroll to the apps you want and tap on it. It will then appear as a short-cut icon on the screen.

No, I know about the shortcut. When I download a app from the market it does not show up on my phone anywhere. To open it I have to either go back into the market or to manage applications. I don't know why it isn't showing up where all the other apps I have downloaded are.

You might try this. Tap on the menu key>settings>applications>manage applications. Then you can run down the list to make sure that the apps you downloaded are, in fact, on your phone. If not, then for some reason, your phone just isn't downloading. If this is true, then a trip to your local VZW store may be in order.
