Market APS disappeared when I uploaded music files from PC

I am a new Droid user but I can't seem to find a similar problem in the forum.

The apps I downloaded disappeared in the Apps menu when I hooked up the phone to my PC to upload music. I think I did install the suggested software (that popped up) on both the PC and phone.

All the apps that came with my phone seem to work.

The apps show up when I go to manage them - but I can't open them - or do anything but uninstall them, clear the cache and move them from the card to the phone.

I have restarted the phone several times.

I have deleted them and re-installed and I have done the re-set on the phone (but not wiped the SIM Card)

Any ideas? It's probably something really stupid & obvious...

Were those applications saved to the SD card? With the phone not connected to a computer, go to settings >applications >manage applications > SD card. See which applications have been installed on the SD card.

When the phone is mounted to the computer, the SD card is not accessible to the phone. If you change the connection to charge only, then the SD card is mounted to the phone and can be accessed through the phone.
