Since I updated my DroidX to latest software I no longer have a message light when I receive text's.  Can't seem to find anything is settings to turn back on.  Would really appreciate any input. Thanks, Steve.

Yes, a widely reported issue after GB ..  Many of us have had success using other 3rd Party apps, ala  Handcent SMS   - the notification LED works fine with that APP.  The developers know about that issue as it was reported via the SOAK Test group. Hopefully will be fixed in a follow-up update; if one comes of course.

Welcome to the group.  :smileyhappy:

I had the same problem at first. Go to Settings -- Manage Apps -- and find the app you use for texting. Select it, and then select Clear Cache.

That worked for me

Also, *SOME* have had luck doing a full "WIPE SYSTEM CACHE" using the Power Button method.

Good luck.

I have the same problem with text messages and missed calls. I have tried a factory reset and it doesnt solve the issue for me.

Clear the cache of the texting and calling app you're using. Or clear the total cache as the above poster mentioned

I cleared the texting and calling app by going to settings->applications->manage applications. How does one clear the total cache.

Someone posted on here that an app called LightFlow worked for them. It lets you customize the LED light for various notifications.

Or if you're using the stock messaging app, try using Handcent. They made a special update just to fix the LED notifications.

By the way, there's a whole other thread on this.

We have received numerous reports about the LED light no longer working after Gingerbread. Our product team has been able to duplicate the issue and we are currently working on a permanent resolution. We will communicate that information once it is resolved.
