Messages Freezing

I've had my Incredible 2 for about a week and a half now, and the past few days I've noticed that my messages are freezing up the phone. Sometimes when I type the letters don't appear on the screen despite the fact that the phone vibrates when I hit the letter and magnifies it to show me which letter I hit. Sometimes when I try to open my messages all I get is a black screen. A couple of times now the phone has restarted on me when I have been trying to view messages, and the other day when I tried to view one I had just received the screen went white for a few minutes, then said loading, then told me to force quit.

The messages app is the only app giving me this trouble. Any ideas?

What I would recommend we do is place the phone into safe mode and remove all text messages from the phone.

To enter safe mode press and hold down the Power button>select Restart>Confirm restart>when you see the HTC logo appear, press and hold down the volume DOWN key>Keep holding down that key through all the normal boot screens, till it shows "Safe Mode" in the lower left corner of the screen. It can take one minute or more for all the boots screen to load up to the main screen.

Once that's enabled, go to Messages and do a long press on each message conversation and choose "delete".  After that's cleared out, turn the phone off and back on to get out of safe mode.  You should be great after that. If not, a master reset would be the next step (Settings>SD Card & Phone Storage>Factory Data Reset>Reset>and follow the steps on the screen.)

Have a great day!

Sorry I can't be of help but I am having the same issue with the Mail function.  Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?  In my case it actually erased my accounts from the mail folder but they still show in my list of accounts when I look at the settings.
