Micro SD Card Issue

I've had my droid x for about a week now and after I downloaded an app, which I found out was too big to run on the droid itself but would need to run on the SD card, the SD card will not read at all. I've tried formating it on the phone (there is no option to unmount, just to format and it doesn't work) and I've tried to format on my computer using severl micro SD card readers. When I try to format it says that the card is write protected. I've made sure that the reader isn't locked. I think it is an error with my card in specific because my brothers works fine when I tried putting it in mine. Is there anyway to fix this or will I have to get a  new card? I'll be going to the Verizon store today if I cannot resolve this issue.

It sounds like it is the card since another card worked just fine.  There are bad cards in a batch and it sounds like yours is one of them.  Verizon should have no problem exchanging it for a new one, I would think.

Thanks, that's what I am hoping too. I'm heading to the nearest verizon store after work.

I am having the same problem with my new Droid X.  Would like to know if there is a known issue with these micro SD cards?  Do I take it back to Verizon and ask for a new card (most likely solution), but would like to hear from krysxvi to see if he has had success with a new card.

I tried these solutions last night, nothing worked. It won't format with my computer, it says the card may be a read only file, which is not the case. I really think it is my card, seeing as how others have worked just fine.

I took mine to the store and they worked with it for 15 minutes and finally had to try a new sd card. It works now.
