Motion sensor not working?

Before the update, when I would make a call the screen would go black while I was on the call, but then pop up once I took the phone away from my ear so I could hang up. 

 

The phone no longer does this and stays black, so that I have to hit the button on the top of the phone to get it to come back. Sometimes though, this doesn't work either, so I have no idea if the call has ended or not. 

 

Is it a motion sensor issue? HELP!

I can help with your sensor not working.  Is it possible that something is blocking your sensor? If you look closely, there are small circles that detect when you hold the phone against your face and pull it away.  Can you ensure they are clean and unobstructed? Also, if you have a case, that could impact the accuracy of these sensors.  

 

You haven't mentioned any troubleshooting steps in your post. What have you tried? Have you pulled out the battery? The last step would be a factory data reset located under settings> privacy. That may help with the issue. If it doesn't it's likely a hardware issue.
