Background:
I called into voicemail to retrieve a message and listened to it and deleted it. Then I fumbled around with my thumb hit 4 then 1, which toggles the voicemail message indicator. When I noticed the voicemail message indicator was still on, I redialed voicemail, selected personal options and toggled the voicemail message indicator again. The indicator still remains on, showing one unheard voicemail despite there not being one.
I am not using visual voicemail or Google Voice.
Researched:
After searching the internet and forums, I have tried the following:
1. Calling cell phone, leaving a message, and deleting it..
2. Calling voicemail, selecting personal options, toggling message indicator.
3. Confirmed that there is no method to turn the indicator off by selecting Settings > Call settings.
Question:
Is there something I have missed, or is it time to contact Verizon Wireless directly?

Forgot, but also did:
Turned phone off, restarted.
Turned phone off, removed battery, restarted.
Neither of the above worked.
