Does anyone know how to keep the original motorola Droid from vibrating while the phone is in a call? On my old phone when I was in a call, if I received a text message or an alarm went off or anything like that, it would beep in my ear to let me know that something had happened. With my Droid, it vibrates IN MY EAR if an alarm goes off or if I receive a text message. I finally turned off the vibration on the text messages due to how much I hated it. But I need the alarms to vibrate so that I can be sure not to miss them, and it seems ridiculous that I have to have them vibrate and interrupt my phone calls so that I don't miss an alarm. Does ANYONE know how to stop this? I have had my phone for just over two months now, and I am sincerely wishing I could go back to my old phone JUST to get rid of this annoying feature. PLEASE help.

Okay, so I just spent like FOREVER on the phone with a motorola representative trying to explain to her what I wanted, and she finally told me to set my phone to 'never vibrate' and apparently this would stop the phone from vibrating ONLY when I was in call. Which seemed stupid to me, but I decided to give it a try. So I set it to 'never vibrate' and then set my texts to 'always vibrate'. I had my roommate text me and it vibrated, and I was excited, cause it was still set to 'never vibrate'. Then I called someone and had my roommate text me again, and IT STILL VIBRATED WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE. Even though it was set to 'NEVER VIBRATE'. So that doesn't work.

I understand you would like to change your settings to not vibrate when connected and unfortunately that is not an option for your device. You can disable vibrate on your device; however, your device will not vibrate when not on a call and a message is received. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Ditch the stock messaging client and use Handcent. It has a lot more customization features and allows you to turn off sound and/or vibrate for incoming text messages while on a call.
