Music format problems since GingerBread update

I am having a problem with music formats since the GB update.
Before the update, I could play Apple Lossless format music copied from iTunes. This was uploaded to iTunes from CD or vinyl, so has no DRM. The only problem was that the Albums had no cover art and tracks played in alphabetical order. Mostly I could live with that.
After the update, the native music player could NO LONGER play the m4p music. It could only play the few items I had downsampled to m3p, but gave me a format not supported error for the music that had played fine before the upgrade. I had to remove most of the music from my SD card, downsample in iTunes and then reload it.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I have researched this and did not find it to be a known issue after the Gingerbread. You mentioned that you had to remove some songs from the SD card, downsample in iTunes and then reload it. Are you able to play the songs on your phone now?
If you are still unable to play the songs please post back so I can further assist you. I have posted your issue in our internal forum to see if anyone else has experienced this issue.
