Transferring contacts from Outlook to Droid without using Google is pretty easy.
Connect your Droid using the usb cable and open the SD card.
Go to outlook and choose contacts. Select all of your contacts by clicking the first contact, scroll down, hold the shift key, and select the last contact. They should all be highlighted now.
Right click on any of the contacts, choose send as business card. Your outgoing email should pop up and all of your contacts should show up as attachments.
Highlight all of the attachments, and copy/paste them to the SD card on your Droid.
After the paste is complete go to contacts on your Droid, hit menu, settings, more. Hit import/export and select import from SD card.
Playing .mp4 files. Initially I could play MP4 files from the gallery but could not play them by tapping the files in the files app. I figured out the reason was that the Droid files app doesn't like the .MP4 extension, it prefers .mp4. Once I changed the extension, I could tap the files from within the files app and they play through the gallery.
The email app (not gmail) with pop3 doesn't delete the emails from the server.
It also isn't smart enough or give the option to go back to the inbox or close an email after replying or forwarding an email. That sucks too.
Shortcuts: I have a ton of word documents that were previously notes on my SD card. I can't find a way to create a shortcut to the folders on the SD card. Work around was adding quick office to the home screen.
The home screen doesn't turn to landscape mode.
Adding pictures to contacts. I couldn't get it to work when selecting pics from the files app, but worked fine when selecting from the gallery.
The gallery. I can't see how to create separate folders and not display every single image it can find.
Live wallpaper. I like it.
Voice command. On Windows mobile, it can be set to announce incoming messages. Not needed but pretty cool. Droid doesn't do it.
