My Droid X never shows an update is available

When I check for updates for my phone I get a message that says: Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later.

 

I have had this phone since end of August 2010 and I don't think it has EVER updated.

 

Have patience with me...I am not tech savvy AT ALL.

Go to Settings>About Phones. If your Android Version is 2.2.1 and your System Version is 2.3.340, then you have the latest update.

My Android version is 2.2 and my System Version is 2.3.15, even the Verizon Store here in Chattanooga didn't have an answer.  Would appreciate any help.

Truthfully, if you have attempted to upgrade and could not, I wouldn't worry about it. If your Droid is doing fine and dandy and you have no complaints like so many others, I would just let it go. I assume you tapped on System>About Phone>System updates. I should also mention that this latest update 2.3.340 was downloaded to take care of some minor problems some people were having.
