My Incredible experience.

So about a week ago I preordered my Droid Incredible and it arrived on the day of the release.  Upon opening the two packages sent via Fed-Ex I noticed that they had shipped me someone else's phone as well as mine.  So trying to be decent about it I called Verizon and informed them of the mistake.  I asked if they could issue a call tag so Fed-Ex would come and pick it up.  They said no, you have to take it to a Fed-Ex distribution center or to a Verizon store.  Ok no biggie, I'm going to the store to upgrade my wifes phone anyways I'll do it then.  I am kinda bothered I need to waste my gas, money and time to drop something off due to your mistake!  So I try to boot up my phone after allowing it to charge.  The phone boots up and I use my land line to activate it.  After the activation I dial *228 and find the phone will not communicatewith the network.  So I call tech support and after 2 hours on the phone they tell me to go to a store and try to get it activated there.  No problem, we go to the store and attempt to activate it.  The teller informs me that the phone is not loaded with Verizon's software and it needs to be replaced.  The store is reluctant to do so however and informs me that by purchasing the phone online they are not responsible for it.  I threatened to complain to corporate and after arguing with the store manager they eventually decide to replace the phone.  After all this I inform them of the phone that was misshipped to my address.  They tell me they are not responsible and want nothing to do with it.  So it looks like I have to deal with Fed-Ex because Verizon doesn't want to be responsible for . . . anything.

After having the phone for two days I am impressed with the quality of the product and am happy with the purchase.  my only two complaints are with the back cover and the battery life.  The back cover is rather cheaply made especially for such a high end phone.  The cover fits on the phone by snapping on and does not have any form of a latch.  The battery life is extremely short!  I would probably fall under a casual user of phones as I only text a few times a day, make a few calls, and check e-mails a  few times a day.  At the most the battery will last me half a day.  When available that is the first upgrade I plan to make.  This is understandable as the phone is very powerful and extremely fast.  All in all I am impressed with the phone and would recommend it to others.  I am dissapointed in how Verizon has been to me and would not recommend their services or lack ther of to anyone.

have you tried running your battery down until your phone automatically shuts off?

then let it charge. after any led light shuts off telling you that your battery is charged, let it charge for an additional two hours.

now some may say that this is not necessary but i did that for my Droid and i have had increased battery life, at least an extra day.

just a thought

Thanks I'll give it a shot.  Just run the battery completely down and let it fully charge?  All in all it's a fantastic phone but if the battery is still giving me issues I'm going to have to upgrade it when or if they become available.
