My Incredible has begun dropping calls....

I've had my Incredible for almost 5 months now and have never had an issue with dropping calls. It has never shown many bars but we all know that doesn't mean anything. I've always had crystal clear sound when using it for calls. About 2 weeks ago or so it starting having serious reception issues. Calls are spotty and I can hear a few words and then it cuts out a few words. I'm constantly having people repeat themselves and many times it has dropped the call completely. Anybody else having this issue or any ideas how I can boost my signal back? I wouldn't be so bothered by this if I wouldn't have had so much time of perfect reception before the problems started......

Thanks for your help :smileyhappy:

Yeah that would definitely be considered network changes! Hopefully it clears up soon.

Are you in a different area then before? Have there been any recent storms that could have affected the towers? Flooding?

Have you dialed *228, option 1 to reprogram your phone to the Verizon network? Then dialed *228, option 2 to update your roaming list?

I haven't moved, in the same location ever since I got my phone.  We've had some storms but nothing huge that I feel would have impacted my phone around the time I started having issues.  I did use option #2 on #228 to update the capabilities but didn't know I should use option #1 other than when activating a new phone.  Is this something I should do on a regular basis, like option #2?

Thanks again for your help....

If one is having connection issues, it can't hurt to try it. It essentially resets how the network sees the phone. If there was any network changes, the phone may not know to connect different and this would update it. That's how I can explain it to myself.

The reprogramming wouldn't need to be done on a regular basis unless there seem to be issues.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out they are upgrading to LTE in the Knoxville area to go live in less than a month and I've been told it can cause the service to be a little testy during this phase.....Keeping my fingers crossed that's the problem!
