Need Help with DroidX

Just picked this up last week or so. I've logged almost 500 minutes of talk time not to mention txts and multi-media. I state that to illustrate that I have a bit of use on the phone before I posted here.

2 major issues for me thusfar:

1 - Is there ANY way to arrange my apps in alphabetical order? This is driving me nuts.

2 - I have been unable to transfer my contacts from my old Nokia 6650. Ideas?

(I can only get 34 of my 150+ contacts copied to the micro cd card and I am not quite clear on why.

Thanks again gang!

open apps area, hit menu, sort, alphabetical

as far as contacts your best bet is to try to bring both phone into a vzw store and use their cellbrite machine (might cost $20 depending on what store you go to) if not you might have to spend 45 mins or so and transpose them.

Now that you are on vzw you can run backup assistant or just sync all your contacts with google both work well

I am guessing that you are speaking of the start menu or the recent app and these dont give a option to place in folders that I can think of.....

And as for the answer to transfer contacts, this post should give you the needed answers..

When I got to my apps and hit menu, I don't see a "sort".  Do you have a droid X?  I see Search, Notifications, and settings...  But it appears my apps are already sorted alphabeticly.

Sounds like TBhouston may be thinking of the Gingerbread start menu because that is on the GB build of the OS,,

What list are you speaking of?  The start menu is automatically in alphabetical order...

Where are you tring to transfer your contacts from and what app are you using?

Thanks again gang!

Yeah I do have an x. The only way I know to do what I want to do is to copy everything to another screen where I can categorize and put things into folders

DJ, I was asking TBhouston if he had an "X".  I can't find the menu he's referring to on my "X".

Long press on a home screen ad folders and name them then open apps and select the app you want and drop in the desired folder I don't folders can be created in the app drawer
