New Dialer with update question

I'm an android/droid X newbie....... I got the new 2.2.1 update a few days ago and I noticed that when you make a call and then end it that the update now has a "recent call" screen added to the dialer pad.  I'm not talking about the "recent" tab at the top. 

Question is....is there a way to remove this feature from the dialer or can I download a new dialer app to replace this one? I simply don't like this new feature.

I do not think this feature can be disabled,  if you want to try a diffrent dialer you can try the trial of aTakePhone from http://shsh.com/android/ it has a number of options to customize the dialers layout.

Hey, Wildman.

The aTAKEphON app looks like what I'd like to have in a dialer. But I can't get the icon to my home screen from the app dock. I press and hold the icon, but it won't place an icon on the homescreen. I have plenty of room on the screen. Otherwise, I really like the app so far...

Have you seen this?

Thats strange, have you tried holding on desktop and selecting shortcut and the app to add icon on desktop?

Yeah, but I figured it out...

I had a widget on the homescreen that was right where the aTAKphONE icon was trying to pop up. Once I moved the widget, the icon popped right up. I never sae an icon do that before, but no matter, I got it done.
