New Droid X with Keyboard?

I really like the screen size of the X. The only thing missing is a keyboard. I think a phone like that would sell BIG TIME!

I know the Droid 2 has a keyboard but it's not the X and the screen is smaller.

ANYONE WITH ME?:smileyhappy:

Perhaps it would, but I love my X just the way it is...:smileywink:

That same idea crossed my mind before i bought the X. After about 3 weeks with the X  I see no need for a physical keyboard. besides the phone is a perfect shape and size as it  is. No need to bulk it up.

I agree. a physical keyboard makes the phone heavier and thicker.  I prefer the keyboard on the "X"  Also, it would be hard to use "Swype" on a physical keyboard....... Haha!

Unless they come up with something on a phone I haven't thought about, I'd be happy with with an "X" with an LTE radio in it. I'm sure an LTE phone is in my near future..... But..... If it doesn't have big screenlike m"X", then I have a decision to make.

I'd study up on some VZW info releases for their LTE network, and the capabilities of the Droid X.  The only thing it's lacking is GSM/CDMA radio combo.

You can always turn the phone sideways when you type. People forget you can do that. As for a physical keyboard, I think the Droid 2 is Verizon's and Motorola's last bid for a phone with a physical keyboard. Most companies are starting to phase them out.

I don't know, Motorola may stay with a physical keyboard device.  Many companies are getting away from them because their designs fail quickly.  *Cough* HTC Touch Pro/Pro2 *Cough*  Motorola has been able to develop a dependable long lasting keyboard.

While yes, it is one less hardware device to fail on a phone if you remove it, many people like having a physical keyboard.  They will continue to make them as long as there is a market for them.  And currently there is still a HUGE market and demand for them.

I didn't mean they were giving up on the physical keyboard all together, look up the Droid Pro, but they are slowly phasing them out.I wouldn't be surprised if we see another incarnation of the original Droid in the form of a Droid 3. But we probably wont see more than one or two truly new phones with a physical keyboard.

Oh yes I agree.  Motorola hit a grand slam with their Droid/droid 2 keyboards where many companies failed.  I would imagine if nothing else you will see the current keyboards with minor changes rolling out to new phone platforms for Motorola.  But as you say, it will probably be future reincarnations of the Droid 1.

You can use a bluetooth keyboard. I am not sure if they make one small enough to be able to clip to the phone like the lg versa.
