Yes it will
It should, but it's always possible that you got one that's sat in stock for a while and missed the update. Generally though distribution warehouses mass flash the phones before shipping.
The Droid X that I received 3 weeks ago came with 2.2 on it.
3 days later, it updated to 2.3.340 or 2.2.1, or whichever they are calling it.
With no issues at all.
