Is it suggested to charge the battery for 8 hours to ensure good battery life BEFORE using?
You should "train" your battery to increase battery life and performance. To do this...
- Fully charge your battery and then fully drain it until it shuts off
- With your phone turned OFF, fully charge until the LED light no longer flashes and remains on
- Let the battery charge for an additional TWO hours
- Repeat the process again (it should be done twice)

Honestly, I charged mine until my LED notification lit up and my battery power was at 100%.
