Hello everyone, I was wondering what kind of SD card I need to buy for my phone. I'm talking to tech support, and the guy I'm talking to didn't even know there were different classes of SD cards. I'm currently on hold right now. I want to upgrade to a 32gb. Does anyone know how a class 10 works in the DX?

Hello Galaxy80,
A class 10 Sd card will work with the DX. Upon your own research it is at your discretion, however, if you want to use it or not.

A class 10 SD card will work fine in your phone. If anything, it is overkill as to speed for the phone. Most phones process data at a class 2 or at best class 4 card data rate.
The benefit you will see with the class 10 card is when you use it to copy/transfer files to/from your PC.

I haven't used a class 10 yet but I intend to get one for my next phone. In the results I've seen posted online the DX works great with it. You will notice the difference mostly between pictures taken and while you watch it save a video.

The class speed affects how quickly your phone can read/write to your memory card. The minimum recommended class for the DX is Class 4, but it will work with 4,6 &10 just fine. The most noticeable difference is as I said above, when you save pictures or videos to your SD card. This comes in very handy when saving large HD videos, or while trying to take pictures quicker.

Thanks! I just read somewhere that said that X's have had problems running class 10 sd cards. Have y'all heard anything like this? I've been trying to find a class 6 32gb sandisk, but that's easier said than done. It's a lot easier to find a class 10 32 gb. I just don't want so spend that much money on a sd card for it and it doesn't work, but I would love to have a class 10 if it works. My X came with a class 2..

I've heard of issues with Patriot and have experienced issues with Lexar myself. If you stick with a Sandisk card you should be safe. My X came with a class 4 card, and I've used my class 6 8gb in it with no issues.
You can try out SD Tools free in the marketplace, it has several SD card tools such as read/write test and also scans your SD card to see if it's a counterfiet or genuine ie: chinese knockoff. Scratch that, they don't support the X.
