New update has removed ability to quickly and easily turn off ringer AND vibrate

I'm using the Motorola Droid A855 w/ Android 2.0, which has just downloaded an update to us all.

I'm really unhappy to have lost the ability to quickly and easily completely silence my phone.  This feature is important to people who have to go into meetings very quickly and who don't want to be seen playing with their device's menu in order to silence it.  Even vibrate makes noise; I like to have the option (as I did before) but the way it works now when one uses the volume button, it is either ringer on or vibrate... you can only silence it completely by going into the menu, and it's several steps at that!

I can't imagine you had too many people who attend meetings on short notice in the focus groups where you researched the desired features for this update.  I'm assuming you do use focus groups.

I did call tech support to ask their assistance and they agree that I have interpreted the situation correctly.

Anyway, I want this ability back and ASAP.

They changed it in Froyo so you're pretty much stuck as I seriously doubt they're going to release a patch to change it back.

Sing, I as well silence with no vibrate, vibrations and electronics don't mix. To silence the phone from the volume rocker. Goto the menu, sounds, hit the vibrate and it will ask you four questions, always, never, only in silent mode, only when not in silent mode.

Choose never and your phones volume rockers lowest position with be silent.
