Well , I was hoping the Incredible would show up over the holidays but it didn't . Really don't need the BOGO and have heard stories about going to Best Buy etc.... Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with a pre-owned Incredible ? Kind of makes me nervous.

For me i got my incredible and X new but I have seen alot pre-owned models out there. an some people have had good luck with them. They say they look just as good as new ones do an no problems but there have been people with the complete opposite an with problems. long ago before these android phones were a thought back in the V3m days i got me a new v3m i thought i was in hog heaven then that dredded little thing happen something broke on it an it was'nt my fault but it was out of the 30 days an i had to get a referb it was mailed to me i opened the box an boy was it a referb the inside screen was scratched i said i dont think so i took it back to the store an said no way im going from a new phone to this piece of crud an the rep told me i have to keep it. i told him would u use piece of crud if u think it so good u keep it . well what helped me i new the store mgr. an he took a look at it an went to the back an got a new one. then had a talk with the rep. i didnt see him the next time i came into the store. that was back in the alltel days. Just remember when it says pre-owned thats what it is: what ever problems the previos owner had if any could show up with u an could cause u havec : Or it could be just fine: thats the chance u'll have to take just make sure u get insurance if u can on it so if anything does happen ur covered Ok! Good luck an have fun in finding ur Android !

there is nothing wrong with going to best buy to get the free one. i haven't had a preowned incredible, but i have had other models (allias II and moto droid). my experience is that they are just as good as new.

I would not buy a used Incredible. VZW will not honor the warranty for the second owner. I bought a used Incredible from ebay and it works but the data has a problem connecting about 75% of the time. The Incredible is less than a year old so they admit it is under warranty but they will not replace it since I am a secondhand owner. Kinda pain in the butt to do manufacturer warranty. They make you pay shipping both ways and they do not guarantee a turn around time or even that it is covered they said. HTC for verizon devices uses UTStarcom for their repairs and they are not great. Buy new!

I love verizon but this is a stupid rule. I can see if the phone is an old model, but everyone knows the max age of the incredible. It was less than a year since launch so VZW is just being jerks on this.
To the OP: if you are saving money then VZW used sounds like a good deal then.

What are they being jerks about... Supply and demand. The demand is still there for the phone. It is lowered $50 from launch.
The OP could have taken advantage of BB's free Smartphone Fridays, if they really wanted to chance the 2nd contract. Although I believe BB is one of maybe two resellers without the dreaded 2nd ETF.
Heck the IPhone is still $199-$299 based on memory.

there is a big difference in buying a used device on ebay (that verizon has no idea of what has been done to it) and buying one of their certified preowned/refurbished devices that they put through their own quality control. this is why you get a new standard warranty when you buy from them instead ebay or some dude on the street. if you buy a laptop from best buy and purchase their plan on it and sell it to someone else, that person can't take it back to best buy. they have to use the manufacturer's warranty. best buy gave you the service plan, not the guy you sold it to....like vzn gave the person who originally bought the phone the warranty, not anyone else. the manufacturer warranties the "product"....the retailer gives various types of warranties or service agreements to the "buyer."
