Zeikos IR-MAT36
I purchased the Moto Droid car mount but did not want to mount it on my windshield. I purchased the Zeikos IR-MAT36 friction dash mount from Amazon.com (17.27 eligible for free ship). It received fairly good reviews and to date I have been very happy with it. My car does have a somewhat flat dash area (Nissan Murano) and the Zeikos does stay in place. I tried some fairly sharp curves to see if I could get it to slide and so far it has not moved. It also does not seem like it would tip over if you hit the breaks very hard. No problem with cold weather - the other morning it was 16. The Moto Droid car mount suction cup attaches to the plate inside the Zeikos and seems very secure. It is also nice that you can put the mount away out of sight. So far a winner!
