I switched from Sprint to Verizon about a month ago. I loved my new DROID. The service was out standing and I had 3g everywhere i went. Last Wednesday they had an outage or something happen to the towers in the Sulphur Springs, TX Area. Now my service sucks. I have been on the phone everyday with Verizon and they keep telling me that there is nothing wrong with the network. I ask them " if there is nothing wrong with your network then how come i don't have service now when i did last week". Same reply, There is nothing wrong with the network. Finally, on 8-5-10 I spoke with a lady that could actually read. She read the report that they changed the tower in my area back to Alltel. Ever since then no one in my town has good service. 3g has just went out the door. "I dropped Sprint for this". They have whipped my phone several times and I have lost all my message contacts for my customers.
Why can't Verizon switch the tower back the way it was and become #1 again? this does not make any since. Looking at the AT&T.

Seems to be easier to tick off customers than to provide the service they advertise. Can you hear me now is now what a lot of people (in my area) are saying and not because of good reception. I have a friend that has been going the rounds with Verizon about poor phone signal since they took over alltel and they want HER to buy a 200 dollar signal booster for her home. I myself have noticed a drastic decline in customer service and weaker signal strength(on my droid). When I went in with my friend as she complained about her phone the attitude she got was pretty much too bad so sad.
What will it take for them to get there act together??? Maybe a class action lawsuit by all the people they continually kick in the pants by their lack of service and false advertising about their wonderful signal????
Unless there are changes in service and attitudes, when my contract is up I'm voting with my feet, even thought I love my driod I will NOT be getting another one. US cell, sprint or ATT here I come

Nope they won't let her out of her contract. 200 dollars for each line and she has 4 of them(that's where the to bad so sad comes in). She has it a lot worse than I do, my phone drops a call when I'm at home about once every 3 calls. I have not talked to her without her phone cutting out once or twice during a conversation from her house. Her phone works everywhere else but her home. The kicker is I live only 1.5 miles from her, my house is surrounded by trees and her house is in the open. I still think they should be giving her this 200 dollar signal booster for all the crap she has had to put up with from this Verizon store.

My husband and I have the same problems with the droid...or should I say Verizon!!! They put in a tower not 3 miles from our home, now we can't get a signal in the house or the road in front of our home. We have talked and talked and talked to Verizon and complained about this and they say nothing is wrong. They also told us to call ### everytime we have a dropped call. Well, we will be calling all the time! Me, my husband and daughter all have the dreaded droids and my daughters husband has a phone with just text and calling on his....just a plain flip phone. He has signal in our house with a cheap phone and we have nothing. We have told Verizon we want to "down grade" our phones and do you know what they told us? We would have to purchase the phones at full price since we are in our contract and the phones aren't up for upgrade yet!! We too are considering going to another company once our contract is up! My husband and I are both on call all the time and we dropped our house phones in order to pay for the droids service and now...we have no way of talking in our home. We can text all day long there......why??? I so wished we had Alltel back! Alltel at least had good signal service and good customer service. My husband & I went to the Verizon store in Longview, Texas yesterday and we got the same impression...too bad so sad! Even heard one guy say he was tired of dealing with customers and needed to do something that was NOT customer related...well find you another freakin job!!
VERIZON!!! WE HAVE NO SIGNAL ON THESE EXPENSIVE , "HIGH TECH" PHONES....WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT??? You do need to change your advertizments to say...."Can you hear me now...heck no...I can't get a signal"!!!!! This is just crazy! You advertize a 3G network....WRONG!
I now tell people who are looking at wireless phone service NOT to use VERIZON...the service stinks and the signal is worse!!
We will continue to deal with Verizon and call them everyday if necessary until something is done....PLUS WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO DOWN GRADE PHONES SO WE CAN HAVE THE SERVICE WE PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can imagine how frustrating this must be. Have you tried updating your PRL by dialing *228 send and option 2? This will update your phone to the nearest cell tower. You will need to wait until you are getting at least 3 signal bars on your phone before you place the call. Hope this helps!

That is why they have a return period. If the signal changed after that period it is very likely that you need to update your prl. When you are near your house with a good signal press *228. It will then help determine the best towers to use.
If you want to downgrade, buy a cheap verizon phone from wal-mart or ebay. Then have those phones activated.

i have been recieving very poor signal strength myself since about the first of the year,in places where i used to never have any problems. I really think it has to do with the switching over to 4g and maybe they have switched some towers to 4G where as leaving less or interfering with the 3g reception,thinking about switching carriers myself seeing how my renew is coming up in Nov. and the 4g will not be available in my area for at least another year.

I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be to go from a good signal to a lessened one.
Are you having signal issues everywhere you go or is it more problematic in a particular area?
Have you called in to speak with any of our technical support staff to possibly file a trouble ticket in order for us to determine what could be decreasing the signal?
