Greetings, new to the forums but not new (considering) to my Droid X. Just some little tidbits I found out the hard way.
Problem #1: Droid X will not connect ((or even charge)) to a pc until reboot.
Solution: I found that my task killer was killing the usb service, I have added this to my ignore list and all is better. Without that service running, forget it. Would love to know if anyone knows how to turn it back on without rebooting.
Problem #2: Cannot purchase anything from the market place. Get an error that it can't connect to a secure server etc.. etc.
Solution: When I original setup my phone, I used my google app acocount ((ie: myname@mydomain.com)) which is a google account. I used this same email, which has a google checkout account when I first went into the market. It's OK to have your primary google apps account, but you NEED TO USE AN @GMAIL.COM account the first time you enter the market, or well.. root it and delete some file I read in the threads or just reset it and start again -- only way around it I found.

Hey sliff, greetings!
Good "tidbits"(yum, remember "cheese tidbits", my favorite cheese cracker of all time. RIP) Task killers are very useful but many people just jump in and set to crazy kill everyhing without understanding some of these processes are necessary.
Also....i never knew you couldnt connect to market without a gmail account on the phone. I just made a gmail when i got my phone so never ran into an issue.
Dj.
