This is my life lately. The browser doesn't work either. Nor do any of my apps requiring data access. I have disabled/enabled broadband, and still nothing. Having 1-2 bars in most places and 3 if I'm lucky, throughout the duration of having this phone, I can live with. No data, I cannot.

I have listed some information below that may help with obtaining a data connection

1.          Ensure all the data settings are set correctly.

 -           Ensure Mobile Network is selected – Press Menu > Settings > Wireless and Networks > Ensure Mobile Network is check marked.

-           Ensure WiFi is turned off – Press Menu > Settings > Wireless and Networks > WiFi is disabled (not checked)

-           Ensure Airplane Mode is turned off - Press Menu > Settings > Wireless and Networks > Airplane mode is (not checked)

-           Ensure Mobile Broadband Connect is turned off - Press Menu > Settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Broadband Connect is (not checked)

 -           Ensure you have a data connection, and try relocating.

2.       Ensure you have a data connection – If you have a data connection you should see a “3G” indicator on the notification shade located on the top of your screen. The “3G” indicator should show two arrows that blink white once you are accessing data.

·       Try relocating with the device. ***Something in the immediate location could be affecting the service received. Try relocating next to a window, balcony, porch etc.

3.      Program the phone

·       Try dialing *228 option 1 once the recording prompts you. Dialing *228 option 1 will reprogram the device with the proper settings. ***Note*** this does not change your devices settings, or wipe any of your existing information.

4.      Perform a soft reset

·       A soft reset is powering off the device, pull the battery out for 20 seconds and place it back in. Once the battery is back in, power the device back on and wait for it to boot up.

5.      Put the device in safe-mode (instruction in article below)

·       Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. This is beneficial for troubleshooting 3rd party applications. If you are able to obtain data in this mode, a 3rd application may be causing the issue.

6.      Final Step (Hard Reset)

·       This is a last resort - ***** Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. Only perform this reset if absolutely necessary.
