No outgoing audio

I have a recurring problem with the outgoing audio during voice calls, i.e., other people can't hear me. I don't know if this is something about the microphone, or something in the phone software.
It has happened with and without a Bluetooth headset. It has happened from the start of some calls, or in the middle of other calls. That is, the other person could hear me when we started the call, but later could not. The mute indicator is never on when this happens.
I have been able to make the problem go away by rebooting the phone. This makes me think it may be a software problem. This is also only a workaround, not a solution. I have an important call scheduled two days from now when this problem must not happen.
Thanks for any suggestions

With the help of phone support, I removed my 3rd party apps, and reset my phone. That seems to have eliminated the problem. (It didn't happen during my important call.) I'll be cautious about re-adding apps, testing after each one to make sure the phone audio continues to work.

That's a good question. The problem is unpredictable, so not easily reproduced. However, as a precaution, I could kill all other apps before starting a call (like my upcoming important one).

Also keep a eye on what Apps starts on its own in background. Also if the phone functions under Safe Mode, this may be a option to try.

Hello to janets and thanks for the assistance of the great Wildman! Janets, if you're still experiencing one-way audio on your phone, please send me a personal message so that I can help resolve it. Please include your name, your mobile number, a phone number where we can speak, and the best times of day for me to call. Thank you so much!

Janets,
My personal rule re new APPs is no more than one per day so I can test 'em in my phone one at a time. So far the only APP that negatively affected my Charge phone was Juice Defender, a power saving battery APP. It's now gone!
I also write down the date each APP was installed so I have the sequence of installation in case a problem starts a couple of days later.
