I've been reading over everyone else's problems and I'm sure I could just reply to one of their threads. However, it seems like the only time you get help on here is if you start your own thread.
For almost a month now I've been having an issue with my DROID Charge not receiving text messages. It appears to always specifically be from someone with an iPhone.
When I view the other person's phone it shows the message they sent me and the time it was sent with a "confirmation" of the text being sent.
However, when I look at my phone I haven't received any messages, often times I'll NEVER receive the message. This is extremely frustrating because I've paid so much for a device that I'm stuck with for the next 18 months and it's not even reliable.
I've reset my handset, removed the SD card, removed the Sim Card, turned it back on. No luck at all, never receive some messages.
I've also been receiving duplicate text messages, as many as 4 of the same message, all the time! This is incredibly annoying as it causes the DROID to freeze up for a second as it's trying to process so many messages coming in at once.
Please help, I'm tired of not being able to receive messages from friends and coworkers who are trying to talk to me!
Thanks-
Sundevil12

Hey man,
I'm sorry for your frustration, but if it makes you feel any better, I have the same exact issue. I'm on my second Droid Charge - returned the first and ordered a replacement after I realized I was missing a lot of my friends' texts. I received my second, and thought all was good for awhile. Then, I got proof of the first instance of it. It's happened less frequently with this device than my previous Droid Charge, but still does happen. However, I haven't noticed it from any one particular phone or even network.
I've called Verizion support and got transferred to their next level support. They've traced text messages throughout their path from other people's phones being sent to mine. Although the level of support has been great (I've gone back and forth through text with the guy for weeks now), there has been no solution. I'm not sure if there ever will be one, but one thing's for certain - this is definitely a problem with the model, and not your particular device.
I also completely understand where you're coming from. It's nice and all that this phone can stream HD video instantly and have other sweet bells and whistles, but why are basic phone functions being sacrificed? Really drives me nuts...
