Not receiving all text messages

I have a droid 2.2 and I'm having trouble receiving text messages. I'm at a total loss. Here's what happened:

- I cannot receive any texts from two of my friends, who have Verizon. They were texting me all day yesterday and I still haven't received a single one.

- I have been able to receive texts from ANOTHER friend who has Verizon, as well as from friends who have other providers.

- So why can't I receive texts from two specific people?

Things I have done so far

- Dialing *228 and reprogramming

- Clearing all data from the stock text messaging program

- Resetting phone to factory settings

- Calling Verizon - no service problems in my area, no blocks on my phone, they basically told me the problem must be with my two friend's phones, but they haven't had any trouble texting anyone else. The glitch must be in my phone.

I've been reading other forums and it seems like this problem has happened to other people, but that it was more of an issue with 2.1. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what I can do next? Or any ideas on what the problem actually is?

Hello, are you using the native messaging application on the device or are you using a third party application?

Also, try selecting Menu, Setting, Applications, Manage Applications, All, Messaging. Then select Clear data and Clear Cache. After this has been done, reboot the phone, and have your friends send you a text message.

I'm having the same problem, except that I keep sending text messages to my friend and she hasn't received any of them. I have sent text messages to other people and they have received them. It seems to be only this one particular person, and she is a verizon user as well. Any help would be appreciated!

mom4aj- I definitely understand how frustrating it must be for your friends/family not being able to receive your text messages.

Since you have already tried the steps bigwig27 suggested to no avail, please send us a PM so we can look into your account more specifically.

I am having the same problem. I have rebooted several times, reprogrammed and cleared stored messages and I am still not receiving test messages. I can send them, but not receive them.

i've been having the same issue. i did a hard reset, lost everything, and still have a useless phone. My brother with the same phone has the same exact issue. ugh

I too have ONE friend that will send me text messages - I see it on the detailed list on Verizon.com; however, they will not make it too my Samsung Fascinate. I do not know why I am having problems.

I texted her @ 5:05 p.m. to verify that our meeting was still going to take place at 6:00 p.m. this evening. I received her reply at 5:06 p.m. informing me that she had sent me a text earlier - canceling our meeting. After telling her that once again I did not get a message initiated by her...I checked Verizon.com & sure enough, she texted me @ 3:59 p.m.

I truly have lost count as to how many texts she has sent me that I have not gotten. Sad thing is, they are showing on my detailed lists of sent/received text messages on Verizon. So, if they are getting to there - why am I not getting them??? It is a good thing that I don't have to worry about going over my limit of text messages, because I would be messed up....here Verizon is logging in text messages and I AM NOT GETTING THEM!

When this happened to me earlier, I searched the message board - read all the instructions about rebooting & stuff...So I did that - and to no avail...I am still having problems. When will this get resolved. This has caused some problems in the past few months!

They said it was because I was a prepaid customer. I refuse to be a contract customer because of this problem.

I downloaded the APK on this site and I got all of my messages to come through. Download it to your phone and run it.
