Nothing but hardware and software failures with my D2 Global, anyone else?

Hi Everyone,
I've had nothing but trouble with my D2 Global. I'm on my 4th replacement from Verizon... I've had the following problems:
1.) 1st Device, camera would not focus, factory reset, still failed, returned for a replacement
2.) 2nd Device, would not update Roaming after installing my original globlal SIM card, returned
3.) 3rd Device, sensor could not tell when the phone was near my face (without any screen protectors), returned and now
4.) 4th Device, does not want to upgrade to GBread, keeps downloading the update. I took it in, no help and neither was support. I took it to a guy in Philadelphia that works on Iphones and Droids, he did a firmware flash (he must have had the bootloader) and now it finally works, but it cost me a lot of effort and money.
Has anyone else had these types of problems with this device. I'm pretty much set on getting off of Motorola and Android to the new Iphone but I'm unsure I'll stay with VZ after this much **bleep**. Has anyone switched from AT&T's 3g to Verizon and been happier with their Iphones?
